What DMARC controls
DMARC lives in a TXT record at _dmarc.yourdomain.com and tells receiving servers what to do when a message fails SPF and DKIM: nothing (p=none), quarantine it, or reject it.
It also asks receivers to send you aggregate reports, which show who is sending mail using your domain.
Rolling it out safely
Start at p=none with a reporting address, review reports until all legitimate senders pass, then move to quarantine and finally reject.
